Tucked into the rural Irish countryside, the home of Geri O’Toole, founder of Geri Designs is a masterclass in modern European elegance. Light-filled, tactile, and deeply grounded in place, the home is not only where she lives, but where her philosophy as a designer comes to life.

When The Interior Design Show was invited to film a feature inside this residence, what followed was one of our most intimately personal episodes to date.

A Designer’s Home, in Her Own Words

Led by Geri herself, the episode invited viewers to see the design process from the inside out. This wasn’t just a stylistic showcase, it was a window into how material, proportion, and mood come together when created for a life you actually live.

From hand-troweled plaster walls to vintage lighting sourced across Europe, every detail was rooted in authenticity. Her voice, calm, assured, and personal became the lens through which the house was experienced.

A Global Response to Quiet Craft

Across the comments, viewers resonated not just with the design, but with the story: a designer shaping her own world without pretence, trend-chasing, or performance. It was a reminder that when work is personal, it often becomes universal.

Subtle Luxury, Carefully Shared

From its limestone floors to natural timber ceilings and open-sightlines across the Irish landscape, the home embodied understated richness. And rather than stage or style beyond reality, we chose to capture it just as it was a lived-in, working family home where every finish had a reason.

The Interior Design Show’s production approach mirrored the project’s own ethos: elegant restraint, editorial clarity, and reverence for space.

A Model for Designer-Led Storytelling

This episode is part of a growing portfolio of founder or designer hosted features, where the voice behind the work leads the conversation. In Geri’s case, it provided both connection and clarity, positioning her not only as a decorator of beautiful spaces, but as a storyteller in her own right.

It also served as a powerful brand moment, drawing new clients, collaborators, and media interest without a single sales message.
